This beautiful Colorful Hamsa Necklace, created by Iris Shemesh is a stunning example of Iris' ability to combine different worlds, cultures and symbols. The Hamsa pendant is set in 925 silver, is decorated with bold colorful pop prints, surrounded by golden beads and adorned with a Star of David, or Magen David in Hebrew, in the heart of the pendant. The Hamsa is an ancient symbol that protects the wearer from the evil eye and the Star of David is a universal sign of Jewish pride. The combinatation of the two in this pendant creates a powerful statement in a chic way. Iris Shemesh started off as a textile desginer and later made the successful transition to fashion design. She has a unique technique of combining a variety of materials to create pieces that have a three-dimensional effect. Iris' work reflects the rich cultures that surround her in her native Israel.
